Understanding My Role

 

As cameraman and lighting technician for my AS-level media film opening, my contribution is instrumental in creating the visual narrative. I am tasked with setting up each shot, providing smooth camera movement, and selecting the appropriate angles to build suspense and tension—central to a thriller.

Aside from handling the camera, I also control the lighting equipment to create the mood and atmosphere. Lighting is crucial in thrillers, so I employ shadows, contrast, and certain color temperatures to evoke a sense of danger or mystery. My responsibility is to make every shot visually interesting while also maintaining the director's vision and tone of the movie.

I also work closely with my crew in order to ensure continuity and visual consistency. Coupling my technical expertise in camera operation and lighting, I contribute to bringing our thriller film introduction to life in a way that is as gripping and cinematic as possible.
