What is a film opening?
A film opening is basically the first few minutes of, say, the movie that set the tone, introduce the key characters, establish the setting, and indicate themes of the story. The opening exists to grab the attention of the viewer and officially plunge them into the world. Each one of these genres employs different sets of opening techniques. For example, the opening scene of a horror movie may employ scary music and offer an uneasy, suspenseful scene to ramp tension, while action films usually kick off with an energetic scene to put audiences right away. Drama films, meanwhile, emphasize on introducing characters and emotional depth, while comedies might lead in with one of those ludicrous scenes for comedy's sake.
